About

Rinsing the stratum was a disaster, water went brown instantly and I had to redo it three separate times before it cleared up enough to use. Spiderwood and rocks are arranged around it now, tucked in with vallisneria and bucephalandra filling in the gaps. Rummynose tetras claimed the spiderwood area pretty much immediately, guppies and endlers just kind of wander everywhere, and the rili shrimp show up more than I expected.

update

Quiet week, nothing much to report.

Note

first fish

Made the trip to the LFS today and finally added some rummynose tetras. Stood there way longer than I needed to just watching the tanks trying to decide, but ended up getting a small group of them. They looked a little stressed going in but settled into the spiderwood area pretty quick. Exciting to finally have something alive in there after a month of just water and plants.

LFS or online for the rummynose? Mine never come in looking that clean at my local shop

How deep front to back is that 60U? The vals make it look bigger than 29 gallons somehow.

Rummynose all schooling together looks so good, is that vallisneria doing okay under the ADA light or did it take a while to settle in

Rummynose noses are so red in that tank, is that just diet or tank age at this point

29 gallons for rummynose is a solid call, they school so much better with room to actually shoal. How many you running in there?

Tank owner replied

Just a small group right now, went with 6. Want to add a few more once I see how the tank handles it but so far they seem happy schooling around the spiderwood
