Dragon stone and hairgrass doing most of the work here, with the hygro pinnatifida filling in the awkward gaps. Gerald the apisto runs the place, two females trailing him around. Crystal reds clean up whatever the trims leave behind lol

Note
water change day
Did a water change and a light trim on the hygro, forgot how much of a mess trimmings make until I had a pile of leaves all over the floor again. Crystal reds were all over the clippings before I even got them cleaned up, little opportunists.
Note
the cacatuoides move in
Finally added the apistos today! Bag was floating at the surface for a bit before I let them out. Theres a male and two females and I already named the male Gerald which feels right for a fish with that face. Plants are filling in a lot more now, still some gaps in the hairgrass but its getting there.
Do you cap the amazonia at all or just let the apistos dig through it? Mine turn everything into a crater eventually
Tank owner replied
Nope no cap, gerald has definitely made a few craters already. I just kinda replant the hairgrass when it gets dug up, its not that deep of a hole usually
curious what par you're getting at the substrate with the twinstar - running it dimmed at all or full intensity for the hairgrass?
Tank owner replied
Honestly havent measured it with a par meter, just running it around 50% cause full intensity felt like too much heat and algae bait. Hairgrass seems ok with it so far
Apistos are looking good in there. Do you feed the shrimp separately or do they just scavenge leftovers?
Tank owner replied
No separate feeding, theyre just scavengers on whatever the apistos miss lol. They seem to be doing fine off leftovers plus whatever biofilm they graze on the wood
