Did a water change and a light trim on the hygro, forgot how much of a mess trimmings make until I had a pile of leaves all over the floor again. Crystal reds were all over the clippings before I even got them cleaned up, little opportunists.
Finally added the apistos today! Bag was floating at the surface for a bit before I let them out. Theres a male and two females and I already named the male Gerald which feels right for a fish with that face. Plants are filling in a lot more now, still some gaps in the hairgrass but its getting there.
Still cycling, no fish yet which is kinda boring honestly. Someone at the shop told me apistos are picky about water params so im in no rush, just dosing ammonia and waiting on the nitrite to actually drop. Waiting isnt really my strong suit but here we are.
Filled the tank and got the filter running, water is pretty hazy right now which I think is just the amazonia doing its cloud thing. Planted everything while it was dry-ish so its all tiny and sparse looking, lots of bare substrate still showing. No fish in yet.
Leveled the stand today for way longer than I shouldve, floor in this room is apparently not flat at all lol. Got the dragon stone and driftwood placed dry before any substrate went in properly, just eyeballing the layout for now. No water yet, just vibes and a bag of amazonia waiting to go in.
