Stratum Plant & Shrimp Substrate

Fluval Stratum is a mineral-rich volcanic soil collected from the foothills of Mount Aso Volcano in Japan, used as a substrate for planted aquariums and shrimp tanks. Its 3-5 mm porous, non-compacting granules promote strong root development, rapid colonization by beneficial bacteria, and a neutral to slightly acidic pH, while giving newborn shrimp refuge from predators. It softens water and reduces carbonate hardness without discoloring the water.
