The thing I like most is watching the corys work the substrate in the morning, all of them at once like they planned it... The moss has finally softened up the stone so it doesn't look so bare anymore. Danios stay up top, otos graze the glass, and somehow it all just settles into a quiet little routine by evening.

Swapped in the Fluval E200 heater today... Took longer than expected getting it positioned so it wasn't visible behind the stone, kept knocking a plant loose every time I adjusted it. Box is still sitting by the stand, haven't broken it down yet. Tank's looking close to how I pictured it now.

Looking a lot fuller lately. Noticed the vallisneria kept flopping over so I moved it a little further from the flow of the filter output, seems to be standing up better now. Moss is getting thicker too, still a few gaps in the carpet but it's getting there.
started as a shrimp tank and got out of hand made me laugh, mine went a bit the same way. how's the moss holding up with the danios in there?
Tank owner replied
Haha glad it's not just me... Moss is doing fine actually, danios don't seem to bother it at all. It's the one thing that's just quietly filling out while everything else gets fussed with.
Danios look great against that stratum... Did the shrimp population crash once the danios went in or do they coexist ok
Tank owner replied
No shrimp in this one actually, just the danios, corys, otos and assassin snails... So no crash to worry about. The assassins mostly just patrol the substrate for pest snails, the danios leave them alone.
