The Lyretail Anthias, also known as the Scalefin, is the social butterfly of marine aquariums, incredibly active and drawing out shier tankmates; males have bright red coloration of varying hues while females tend to be more orange. It does best in a group in a species-specific aquarium of at least 125 gallons, with males kept alone or with several females; it occupies the middle of the aquarium and appreciates several hiding places; feed frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp, and flake foods in small quantities throughout the day.
