What gets me is how the ember tetras disappear against the driftwood until they don't, then it's just this cloud of orange moving through the vals. Monte carlo and hairgrass carpet most of the front, moss on the wood doing its own slow thing.
The vallisneria has gotten out of hand in the best way, throwing runners all over the back and starting to reach the surface. Had to trim some just so it wasn't shading everything else out. Rest of the tank is looking close to how I want it, hairgrass is dense now and the moss finally looks like moss instead of thin green fuzz on wood.
Nothing to report really, just sat and watched the embers school through the vals for a while tonight. That's the whole update.

Rachel CookQuestionTank looks really settled for a year in, are you dosing any ferts or just relying on the driftwood breaking down?
Not dosing anything right now, letting the driftwood and the crypts/vals do their thing. Might start ferts if growth stalls but so far it's kept pace on its own.
