Looking good, not much to report.

What I like most is watching him claim the dragon stone like he owns the place, which, fine, he does. The shrimp colony has taken off too, twenty-some Crystal Reds picking through the hairgrass all day. What bugs me is the Monte Carlo, it just sits there refusing to carpet no matter what I do. Six gallons, dual sponge filters, otherwise no complaints.

Swapped the heater out for the Fluval E200 and of course the cord was too short for where the outlet is, so that was a whole thing rearranging the stand. Tank's looking close to full grown in now, plants coming along nicely around the stone. Just need the heater situated so I stop staring at the wire every time I walk by.

Dragon stone with monte carlo carpet holding a year later is no joke, dry start or straight flood on that?
How are your params holding up lately? Curious with that dual sponge filter setup on 6 gallons if you find yourself dosing anything or just relying on the water changes
Params have been steady, nothing dramatic. I'm not dosing anything, just weekly water changes and the sponge filters doing their job. Plants are low tech enough that they don't seem to need more than that.
what schedule you running on the flat nano+? curious if you had to dial back intensity at all with the hairgrass carpeting in that low a tank
Running it around 6-7 hours, nothing crazy. Didn't have to dial back for the hairgrass, honestly the carpet's been slower than I expected so if anything I could probably bump it up a bit.
man that hairgrass and monte carlo carpet under the halfmoon is doing work, a year of growth really shows
A year in and that rockwork is completely disappeared under the hairgrass, nice. How often are you trimming the monte carlo to keep it that low?
No issues so far - halfmoons can be scrappy but that stocking looks calm. Is the crystal red colony holding up alright with him in there?
Yeah they're doing fine, still see a handful every time I look closely. He mostly ignores them, they just scatter to the moss if he swims through. No casualties that I've noticed.
Is that hardscape dragon stone? Shrimp must love grazing on it
Yep, dragon stone (ohko). And yeah the shrimp are all over it grazing, especially the crystal reds, they pick at it constantly.
