hairgrass and buce over stone and wood, that's the whole idea here. the buce has properly settled onto the wood now, hairgrass still has a few gaps but it's filling. white clouds ended up in instead of the rummynose i originally wanted, worked out fine, they shoal nicely against the green. amano shrimp keep the glass tidy between algae scrapes. kessil's on a shorter photoperiod these days after it got away from me a bit.

algae
getting a decent bit of algae on the glass and some on the older hairgrass leaves, think the photoperiod's been a touch long. cut the kessil down and did a few days of reduced lighting to knock it back. bit annoying tbh after it was looking so clean a few weeks ago, but nothing a scrape and a trim won't sort.
Note
first fish in
picked up a small group today, went in for rummynose but ended up leaving with white clouds instead, the tetras they had in stock looked a bit stressed and thin so i didn't want to risk it. bag's floating now to get the temp matched before i let them out. plants have filled in a good bit since setup, still gaps in the hairgrass but the buce is settling onto the wood nicely.
Tank looks really settled for a year in... Is that just the amazonia tinting the water or are you dosing something for tannins
Tank owner replied
no tannin dosing here, just the amazonia doing its usual leaching early on, that's mostly settled out by now tbh. water's pretty clear day to day, might just be lighting in the photo making it look tinted.
