rotala's taken off
the rotala rotundifolia has properly bushed out, probably tripled in mass since the last trim. carpet's filled in nicely across most of the front now too. wood's finally got that aged look i was going for back at the start.

wanted to try the bonsai wood look after seeing it done in a tiny tank online, so this was basically built around the driftwood shape. amazonia underneath, monte carlo carpeting in. celestial pearl danios dart around it now, amano shrimp everywhere lol, colour on the rotala's really come in.

picked up an inkbird temp controller for it, wasn't expensive but adds up when you're doing it for a 5g lol. worth it though, don't have to guess if the heater's actually cycling on and off properly anymore.

The CPDs look great against that driftwood. Amano shrimp doing their cleanup duty I assume? Kinda curious how the monte carlo carpet is filling in on a 5 gallon.
yeah amanos are on cleanup duty, mostly picking at anything on the wood and glass. carpet's slow tbh, still patchy in spots, amazonia takes its time before things really take off so not rushing it
Celestial pearl danios in a 5 gallon is such a fun idea. What params are you keeping it at, water changes every two weeks seems to work well for you
keeping it pretty standard, temp steady around 24-25c with the inkbird, nothing fancy on params tbh havent tested in a bit since everything's been stable. water changes are more like weekly small ones at this stage since its still settling in, not on a strict 2 week schedule yet lol
CPDs in a 5 gal always looks so calm somehow. What's your light schedule on the solar rgb, and you got par numbers at the substrate?
In-tank or inline on that ADA light setup? Small footprint like that I'd think inline saves you some hassle
just the in-tank arm, didn't bother with inline. footprint's small enough it doesn't really get in the way, just sits over the back corner near the wood
