So I tried CO2 for a while. Ok so that whole thing crashed within a month and I went back to low-tech, way calmer now.

Went with dry rock the first time and hated how it looked once water hit it, way too stark. Cycled slower than expected and had a stretch where algae took over completely. Clownfish, wrasses and the chalice colony now, cleaner shrimp picking through the rockwork most days.

Sits right on my desk so it's basically eye level all day while I'm working, which honestly makes it dangerously easy to get distracted by. Dragon stone stacked up one side, vallisneria swaying into frame, ember tetras darting through it. The amano shrimp do most of the actual cleanup.

Honestly this one doesn't ask for much. A glass wipe here, a trim on the rotala when it gets out of hand, and that's about it. Pygmy corys and rasboras keep busy on their own, the pleco mostly hides until evening, and the hygrophila fills gaps I never planted it in.
