Had a friend over and they said the caves looked like they'd always been there, which felt kinda nice to hear since it took forever to get the stack right. Fish are basically full size now and the rock's got that lived-in look finally.

first fish in
Added the yellow labs today, first livestock in the tank. They went straight for the caves and kinda hovered near the rock instead of swimming out in the open, which I guess is normal for day one. One of them was already flashing a bit of color by the evening though.

two weeks in
Noticed a dusty brown film starting on the sand and lower rock faces today, pretty sure it's diatoms from the cycle. Wiped a bit off the front glass just so I could actually see in. No fish yet, just letting it run.

filled it up
Water's in, filter's running, still hazy from the sand settling. Set the inkbird to 78 for now since that's usually the sweet spot for mbuna, might nudge it a bit once I see how stable it holds overnight. No fish yet, just watching the canister prime.

hauling rock and glass
Spent the morning stacking the dry rock into caves before any water went in. The sand alone was kinda heavy to carry up, and the rock took two trips from the car. Didn't expect the whole setup (tank, canister, light, all of it) to add up like it did but here we are, empty and dry for now.
