july check in
the dwarf hairgrass has completely taken over the front, way more than i expected this soon. barely any bare substrate left to see. anubias is doing its own thing slower but steady. anyone else surprised by how fast hairgrass spreads?

swapped in the new heater today and it was more of a hassle than i expected, had to redo some of the tubing and nearly knocked over a plant getting it positioned right. tank's looking almost full now though so worth it i guess.
added the guppies today and i already feel like i'm checking on them too much. water params seem fine but i keep worrying something's off. anyone else hover over the tank the first few days after adding fish?
still cycling, still no fish, still waiting.
water's in, filter is running, plants are in the ground. it's cloudy and there's nothing living in it yet and i already want to add fish. i know i have to hold off but it's hard looking at an empty tank every day.
hauled the seiryu stone home today and my arms are still sore. that stuff is way heavier than it looks in photos, took two trips just to get it all in the car. hardscape is placed, substrate is in, no water yet. just looking at the bag of controsoil wondering if i bought enough.
