Swapped the temp controller today, the old one kept drifting a degree or two and setting off my paranoia every time I glanced at the display. New inkbird box and packaging still sitting on the floor by the stand, haven't cleaned that up yet. Tank's basically full grown at this point so didn't want temp swings messing with the shrimp.

quiet week
Nothing much to report, just topped off evaporation and watched the shrimp pick through the moss for a bit. Tank's just doing its normal thing, no issues, no WC even this week.
Note
someone noticed
Had a friend over and they actually stopped and asked about the tank instead of just glancing at it, said the moss looks really full now. It's grown in a lot since the early days, sword's pushing new leaves too. Nice to hear it from someone who isn't me staring at it every day.
Note
first fish in
Added the first fish today, went with the endlers to start since they're pretty hardy. Bag was floating to acclimate and I just kept staring at it convinced something was going to go wrong. Only a handful in there right now and the tank still looks pretty empty around them but so far everyone's swimming fine.

the film stage
Two weeks into the cycle and there's this dusty brown film showing up on the glass and substrate, classic diatom bloom I guess. Plants are still tiny and sparse, lots of bare substrate showing between the moss clumps. Not worried about it, just wiping the glass when I look at it and letting the tank do its thing on its own time.

Note
uh oh
Got her filled up and got the filter running today, no fish in yet, just cycling water. Went to grab a towel and came back to a wet patch under the stand, had a small heart attack thinking it was the tank itself. Turned out to be splash from filling, not a seal issue, but I checked every corner twice before I trusted it.
Note
leveling day
So today was just getting the stand level and the tank placed before anything else happens. Floor in this room is not as flat as I thought, had to shim one corner with a bit of cardboard until my level stopped complaining. Hardscape is in dry, no water yet, just wanted the base right before I fill it and can't fix it anymore.
