new light
Swapped the light out for the Kessil A360X today and it was more of a hassle than I thought it'd be, mounting arm didn't want to clamp right on the rim at first. Worth it though, the color on the peacock looks so much better under it now.

Did my first real water change on this tank today and it took way longer than expected, mostly because I kept stopping to watch the fish dart around the rocks. Gravel vac took forever with the sand, had to be careful not to suck it all up.
Brought home the Electric Blue Johanni today, bag was floating at the surface for a bit before I let him in. Tank feels completely different now, like it actually has a purpose instead of just sitting there full of water. Rocks are still spotless, no algae yet, but having even one fish in there changes everything.
Two weeks into the cycle now, water's crystal clear which almost makes me nervous since there's nothing to look at yet. Someone at the fish store told me not to rush stocking African cichlids or I'll regret it with aggression later, so trying to just let this sit and do its job.
Filter is running now, tank is full of water, no fish yet. Spent a while messing with the heater trying to land on a good number for the Johanni and peacock down the road, settled on 78 for now. We'll see if that needs adjusting once things get going.
Got the rock caves stacked today and I already rearranged them three times. Still not sure about the layout, feels a little lopsided with the spiderwood leaning the way it does. No water in yet, just dry sand and empty bags everywhere. Might tear it down again tomorrow honestly.
