Otocinclus and blue bolt shrimp share the amazonia with a couple sword plants and a few java fern clumps tied off on spiderwood. Fluval Plant 3.0 over the top, sponge filters doing the work. Sword leaves need trimming every few weeks or they shade out everything under them. Kid still checks on the otos every morning.

Did a water change and trimmed back the sword leaves that were shading everything out. Managed to knock half a bucket of tank water onto the floor mid-change, wife was not thrilled. Shrimp were all over the trimmings within minutes.

Added the first otocinclus today, picked them up after checking three different LFS tanks for healthy looking stock. Bag's floating right now to equalize temp before I let them out. Plants have filled in a good amount since setup, still gaps in the carpet area but it's getting there.
