About

Rummynose are the ones that make this tank for me, the whole shoal turns and stops together like it's rehearsed. Neons fill out the mid layer underneath them. Monte Carlo's finally knitting together up front, still a few gaps but way fewer than it used to be. Moss on the branch has thickened up and stopped looking so stringy. Pinnatifida gets a trim most weeks or it goes leggy fast. Runs on ADA Amazonia, which explains the occasional soil dust after a heavier vacuum.

Note

swapped the diffuser

Finally swapped out my old CO2 diffuser situation, the ceramic disc I had wedged near the ADA solar rgb mount was clogging constantly and I was cleaning it like every three days just to get decent mist. Bubbles kept getting bigger and bigger until it basically stopped diffusing at all. New one's been running clean for a few days now with way finer mist and way less maintenance. Annoyed I didn't just replace it sooner instead of babying the old one along.

Note

quiet week

Nothing really to report this week. Fish are fine, plants are doing their normal thing, no algae outbreaks, no dead anything. Kind of a boring stretch honestly.

How's the solar RGB doing at 10g depth, getting any shadow spots in the back corners with the amazonia mounded up?

KKevin GarciaQuestion

tetras look great in there, any of them actually breeding or just the adults hanging around

Tank owner replied

Just adults hanging around, no breeding. Honestly neons/rummynose almost never breed in a community tank like this without way more specific triggers, soft acidic water, dedicated setup etc. Mine just school around the moss and act like a squad, that's plenty for me.

That's ohko/dragon stone right, not manzanita - the layering's really clean either way, curious how long it took to stack.
