coming along
moss has filled in most of the wood now, vals are tall enough to sway when the filter kicks on. danios school together more than i expected for how small the group is. still a bit of open sand up front but it's getting there.

work's been eating my whole week so the tank basically ran itself. topped off evaporation, glanced at the shrimp, that's about it. moss is filling in on its own at this point which is nice because i haven't touched it in ages. feels a little neglected honestly but everyone still looks fine.
quick water change and a light trim on the vals, nothing fancy.
danios are in, bag's still acclimating at the surface.
ghost feeding a small pinch of flake every other day to give the bacteria something to work with. dosed bottled bacteria again this week on top of the day one dose just to nudge things along. water's gone completely clear which is almost unsettling at this point, keep waiting for an ammonia spike to show up. no plant growth to speak of yet, just holding steady, no melt though so i'm not worried.
got water in and the BioMaster running today. dosed dechlorinator before filling, went a little heavier than the bottle says because i always do, seems to work out fine. cloudy right now which i'm expecting, sand needs a few days to settle. no livestock in yet, just letting it run.
took forever moving the same piece of driftwood around before settling on this angle. wanted the wood to lean enough to leave a path through the middle instead of blocking the whole tank front to back. sand's down, no water yet, just bare substrate and wood sitting there. still deciding if this is the one or if i'm ripping it out tomorrow.
