Just looking at this tank tonight and honestly pretty happy with it. Rotala's filling out, vals swaying around, shrimp doing shrimp things on the dragon stone. Still a bit of open substrate here and there but not mad about it

Added the neon tetras today and immediately regretted looking at them so much. Kept checking if they were hiding or just chilling, hard to tell with neons tbh. Water params seemed fine before adding but still paranoid every hour

Two weeks into cycling, ammonia still reading higher than id like, nitrites present too. No fish in yet so not stressing too hard, just testing every few days and waiting on the numbers to drop

Ok so tank is filled, water's hazy as expected, filter running. Dosed dechlorinator and just kind of stared at the cloud settle. Plants are in but tiny, mostly bare substrate showing between clumps. No fish yet (oops)

Rinsed the ohko stone about 4 times and the water still came out cloudy, gave up and just went for it. Dry scape is in, amazonia down, no water yet. Bag of substrate still sitting next to the tank like a reminder of the mess I made
