Nothing really happened, just sat and watched the rasboras chase each other around the hairgrass for a while. Shrimp are out more than usual grazing on the stone. No maintenance to report, just an easy uneventful week which honestly I don't mind.
Note
small fix
Noticed the vallisneria was shading out one corner of the monte carlo so I thinned it back and redirected a couple runners away from that side. Carpet's coming in well everywhere else, moss has thickened up a lot too. Small change but already seeing more even light hit that patch a few days later.

Note
first fish in
Added the first cardinal tetras today, acclimated them for temp then added small amounts of tank water over about 20 minutes before releasing them. Carpet's still patchy in spots and the moss is thin but seeing actual fish in there instead of just plants is a different feeling entirely. Only a handful for now, going slow with stocking.

Note
cycling is boring
Ok so two weeks into cycling and I just want fish in this thing already. Water's clear, hardscape looks fine sitting there dry-ish still, but staring at an empty tank with no bioload is rough when you know what it's supposed to look like eventually. Checking params way more than I need to at this point.
Note
filled it up
Filter's running, water's in, nothing alive in there yet. Set the eheim jager to 76 and just letting it stabilize before I even think about plants going in permanent. No ammonia source added yet either, want to get temp locked in first.
Note
dry start day
So hardscape is in, spiderwood and seiryu stone placed, no water yet. Showed my roommate before adding anything and she just said 'that's it? That's the tank?' lol. Bare substrate right now but I can already see the layout I'm going for. Bag of substrate still sitting next to it for touch ups once I start planting into it.
