Note

update

Getting close to how I want it... If I redid the scape I'd probably push the dragon stone further apart, feels a touch cramped in the middle now that everything's grown in.

Note

fan swap

Installed the cooling fan today and of course the bracket didn't fit right the first two tries... Got it clamped on eventually but that was more fiddling than a $20 fan should require.

Note

filling in

Compared to that sparse sad photo from december this thing actually looks like a planted tank now... The sword's throwing new leaves and the carpet's finally connecting instead of being sad little islands.

Note

blackout time

Algae's taken over the glass and some of the stone so I'm doing a 3 day blackout and cut the light schedule back... Hoping it knocks it down before it smothers the monte carlo.

Note

first fish in

Added the cardinals today and I've been hovering over the tank like a nervous parent... Water's still not fully broken in and I keep checking on them every hour, probably annoying them at this point.

Note

still cycling

Two weeks in, clear water, no fish yet... Plants are tiny little sad clumps right now lol.

Note

filled it up

Filter's running and water's already glass clear which feels like cheating this early... No fish yet, of course, but staring at clear water over bare hardscape is weirdly enjoyable.

Note

dry start

Grabbed the dragon stone from a local guy clearing out his stock, been sitting in my garage for months waiting for a tank to put it in... Finally stacked it tonight, no water yet, just rock and a bag of controsoil on the floor next to it.
