Note

week 24

noticed the amazon sword has thrown out a new leaf thats bigger than all the others, kinda towers over the rest of the plants now. rest of the tank looks good, crypts have filled out nicely under it too.

Note

heater swap

swapped in the fluval e200 heater this week and it was more of a hassle than i thought it would be, had to redo some of the hose routing on the canister to make room for it near the intake. dropped a fitting behind the stand and had to fish it out. works fine now but took way longer than expected.

Note

quiet week

not much going on honestly. fed, did a glance at the params, topped off evaporation. carpet is mostly filled in now with just a couple gaps left, moss is thickening up too. nothing exciting to report but nothing wrong either.

Note

week 12ish

noticed the tetras have started schooling tighter together instead of scattering all over the tank, they kinda hang out near the rotala stems most of the day now. plants are coming along well, carpet has more coverage than before. just fun to watch them move as a group now.

Note

day 30

added the first neon tetras today, just a small group. bag is floating right now getting them used to the temp. probably overthinking it but i keep watching them dart around and hoping none of them are stressed out from the move. tank still looks pretty bare with them in there, just a few little guys swimming around all that empty space.

Note

week 2

bit of a dusting of diatoms on the sand and some of the hardscape, kinda expected at this point. water is still clear otherwise. plants are so small right now, mostly just little clumps of monte carlo with a lot of bare soil showing between them. moss looks thin too, nothing like i pictured yet.

Note

topped her off

got water in and the fluval 307 running. dosed dechlorinator before adding water, nothing living in there yet so no rush on anything else. just watching the flow pattern right now and making sure the heater is reading right.

Note

day 0

dry fit the hardscape today before any water goes in. went with a few pieces of wood angled off to one side with some stone tucked in around the base. moved things around way more than planned, kept second guessing the layout. finally landed on something i like, gonna let it sit like this for a day before i start filling.
