Guppies have gotten bold, they just swim right up when I walk by like I owe them something. White clouds stay more in the middle water column doing their own thing, shrimp are out more during the day too which I'll take as a win.

Swapped the heater out for the fluval e200, box and packaging currently all over my floor because I refuse to clean up mid project. Wiring it in around the canister lines was more annoying than it should've been for one heater.

Added the first cherry shrimp today and honestly the tank feels like an actual tank now instead of just wet furniture. Tiny guys immediately hid in the wood crevices, took me ten minutes to even spot one again.

two weeks in
Ok so cycling is happening and there's this dusty brown film showing up on the driftwood already. Diatoms I think. Nothing to look at yet but at least something's alive in there now, even if it's just grime.

Topped her off and got the canister running, filter's making this weird gurgle every few minutes like it's clearing its throat. No fish, no plants really yet, just water moving over bare wood and substrate.

So before any water goes in I spent an embarrassing amount of time leveling the stand, floor in this room is apparently not a floor. Wood's placed, substrate bag still sitting there unopened half empty, no water yet. Just vibes and a spirit level right now.
