fighting some kind of green film/hair algae combo right now. pretty sure it's from me overdosing a bit trying to keep alk stable, salifert test said I was low so I panicked and added more than I should've. cutting back and doing a bigger water change this week.
added the six line wrasse today. floated the- ok, acclimated slow, drip line for about 45 min before he went in. he bolted straight into the rockwork and I didn't see him again for like 3 hours, classic wrasse behavior I guess. coralline's finally showing up on the rock too.
two weeks into cycling. ammonia and nitrite finally dropping, nitrates climbing like they're supposed to. rock's got a light brown diatom haze on it, kind of expected at this stage. no fish yet, just waiting on the numbers to line out.
water's in, filter running, no life in there yet. set the heater around 78 for now, might bump it down a degree once things settle. tank looks weirdly big when it's empty like this.
so this is the dragon stone going in dry, ohko rock, picked pieces at the store for like an hour trying to get the shape right. no water yet. sand's still in the bag on the floor. going for something with a bit of a cave for the wrasse eventually.
