The rotala's shot up like crazy this month, had to trim it twice already. Whole scape is finally filling in around the seiryu stone, apisto's claimed a cave and is being his usual grumpy self about it.

Swapped the light for a Kessil A360X, wasn't cheap but figured the plants deserved better than what I had. Wallet's a little lighter, tank's a little brighter.

The dwarf hairgrass is actually carpeting now instead of looking like sad tufts, pretty happy about that. Everything else is just doing its own slow thing but the hairgrass finally caught up.

Ammonia reading high still, nitrites just starting to show up which I guess means something's happening. No fish in yet so just checking numbers every few days and pretending I know what I'm doing.

Ok so filled this thing and immediately found a wet patch under the stand, mini heart attack. Turned out just a splash from the hose, not a crack. Water's hazy, plants are tiny little clumps right now, nothing dramatic.

So rinsing the controsoil took forever, kept clouding up no matter what. Seiryu stone's placed, no water yet, just eyeballing dry substrate wondering if the layout even makes sense.
