The rotala has basically doubled in mass since last time I posted, it's filling out the whole back section now and needs trimming again soon. Everything else is settling in nicely too, still a little less dense in spots but getting close to how I originally pictured this scape.

Note
just watching
Nothing really going on this week, just sat and watched the rasboras chase each other around for a while after work. The pleco was out too which is rare, hanging on the glass near the wood. Kind of a nice way to unwind honestly.
Note
water change day
Did a water change and a trim on the rotala, thought it'd be a quick 20 min job and it turned into over an hour between untangling stems and cleaning the intake. Worth it though, tank looks a lot cleaner now.
Note
first fish in
Added the pygmy corys today, finally.
Note
film on everything
Two weeks into cycling now and there's this brownish diatom film coating the glass and some of the leaves. Figured this would happen eventually, still kind of annoying to look at. No fish in there yet so nothing to worry about, just wiping the glass every couple days and letting it ride out.
Note
filled it up
Filled the cube and got the filter running, water's still a bit hazy which I expected but it's driving me nuts anyway. Plants are in but they look so sparse right now, tiny clumps with way more bare substrate showing than plant. No fish yet, just gotta sit on my hands for a while.

Note
setup day
So today was just rinsing. Rinsed the substrate about four times before the water even ran close to clear, rinsed the rock too since it had this weird dust on it. Hardscape is placed, no water in yet, just looking at the bag of substrate wondering if I bought enough. Going with the same stone and wood layout I sketched out, wanna see if it actually reads the way I pictured it.
