swapped in the sicce syncra for flow today, took way longer than it should have getting the mounting bracket positioned without it aiming right at the anemone. finally got a spot i like, hope it holds position after a water change.
looking back at the early photos the rock was basically bare, now theres actual color spreading on it and the frags are noticeably bigger. still patchy in spots but its a different tank than it was two months ago.
hair algae and some green spot showing up on the glass and rock, diatoms all over the sand too. pretty sure its just the tank still settling in and me overfeeding a little trying to get the chromis used to their spot. scraped the glass and cut back feeding, coralline is starting to show under it all at least.
added the blue green chromis today, floated them in the bag for temp then did a slow drip into a bucket over about 30 min before netting them in. all made it through the night, swimming around the rock like theyve been there the whole time.
guy at my usual shop told me not to trust the ammonia test alone this early and to just hold off for a full cycle before adding anything, even hardy fish. kind of annoying to hear but hes been right before so im holding off another week or two.
filled her tonight and started the fluval up, water's a bit hazy still which i expect is fine. went to grab a towel and found a small puddle under the stand from one of the fittings, tightened it down and its dry now but gave me a mini heart attack. rock still bare white with a bit of brown film on it, no livestock yet just nothing in there yet.
rock is in, been staring at the layout for an hour trying to decide if it needs another arch. my wife walked by and said it looks like a pile of rubble, so thats the review i guess. gonna sleep on it before i commit.
