Purigen Filter Media
Seachem Purigen is a synthetic adsorbent media that removes organic waste, colors, and odors from aquarium water, short-circuiting nitrate production by removing precursor organics before they break down — without significantly affecting trace elements. It darkens as it exhausts (visible maintenance indicator) and can be regenerated by soaking in bleach solution; each 100 mL treats up to 100 gallons for up to six months in a 180-micron-or-less filter bag, media reactor, canister filter, or high-flow area.
