Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Pellets is an easy-to-use organic filter media for pellet reactors for the effective biological removal of nitrate and phosphate; made of natural biopolymers that promote colonization and growth of nitrate- and phosphate-removing bacteria and other microorganisms. Nitrogen and phosphorus are extracted from the water; the resulting nutrient-rich biomass is flushed into the aquarium as a basic food resource for corals and other filter feeders or skimmed out. Helps corals show their brightest colors; ideal for reef or fish-only systems. For use in a pellet/fluidized reactor; soak pellets in boiling hot water 2 hours before use. Start with 50 mL per 100 L; double after four weeks if necessary; do not exceed 200 mL per 100 L; use a protein skimmer for nutrient removal and gas exchange; top up monthly to replace degraded material.
