Color Changing CO2 Absorbent Media
BRS Color Changing CO2 Absorbent Media is soda lime (calcium hydroxide, water, and a small amount of sodium hydroxide with ethyl violet indicator dye) used in a CO2 scrubber connected to a protein skimmer's air intake to raise and stabilize aquarium pH where CO2 is the limiting factor. The media changes from white to purple as it exhausts (replacing at ~2 weeks per 10" cartridge), is packaged in sealed Mylar bags to preserve hydration, and comes in 1.2 lb (single cartridge refill, ~800 mL) and 7.5 lb (7 refills, ~5600 mL) sizes.
