BRS Bulk Bioballs are 1.5-inch black high-density polypropylene biological filter media with a pegged surface that provides roughly 22.7 square inches of surface area per ball (about 80 per gallon). They cultivate nitrifying bacteria, promote gas exchange and oxygenation, resist clogging, and are inert for use in freshwater or saltwater biological filters and gas exchange reactors.
