The West African Angelfish, also known as the African or Guinean Angelfish, has beautiful blue juveniles with a yellow tail that start changing color at 1.5-2 inches, the edges turning orange and blue fading to yellow to olive green. It can grow to over a foot in length, so requires at least a 150 gallon aquarium; it is hardy but can become aggressive, so keep with semi-aggressive tankmates; it grazes on live rock and may nip at stony and soft corals and clam mantles, so it is not a good reef candidate; feed Spirulina, marine algae, meaty items, and high-quality angelfish preparations at least three times daily.
