The Tiger or King Angelfish (Apolemichthys kingi) is a holy grail of angelfish, uncommon in its wild habitat around South Africa and only relatively recently introduced to the aquarium trade, preferring deeper water where dive conditions are rough. It is somewhat shy but semi-aggressive as an adult and reef safe with caution; maximum adult size is 8-10 inches with a minimum aquarium of 150 gallons; use an acclimation box when introducing young 2-3 inch fish to a tank with established fish; angelfish do best in a mature aquarium with large areas for grazing.
