The Sunset Anthias, also known as the Shortsnout or Diadem, has many color variations; one common form is predominantly yellow highlighted with red on the anal and caudal fins. It stays in the middle levels of the tank but requires plenty of caves, ledges, and hiding places; a 284-liter tank suits one fish, and a 473-liter or larger tank is needed for a group of one male and several females; like all Anthias it is hermaphroditic, and once acclimated it should be fed frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp, and flake foods in small quantities throughout the day.
