The Spotbreast Angelfish, also called the Blackspot or Blackspot Lyretail Angelfish, has a highly-flared tail and dramatic sexual dimorphism; females are yellow dorsally and light blue ventrally with a marine-blue caudal fin edged in dark blue-black, while males have vertical red stripes over a pale body and a forked yellow tail with blue edges. An exception among angelfish, it makes a good reef dweller and will not nip at stony or soft corals; it is more peaceful and may be kept as a mated pair or in schools; provide at least a 125 gallon tank with hiding places and live rock for grazing; feed Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, and finely shaved mysis or frozen shrimp.
