The Rock Beauty Angelfish adult has a predominately black body especially on the back half, with a bright yellow head and front half and yellow caudal fin, and striking sapphire-blue accents around the eyes; juveniles are initially mostly yellow with a large caudal black spot that enlarges to overwhelm the yellow. It is difficult to sustain in a home aquarium because of its dietary requirement of sponges; feed vegetable matter such as marine algae and Spirulina, finely chopped meaty items, and high-quality angelfish preparations containing sponges.
