The Queen Angelfish is one of the most striking of all angelfish, with vibrant yellow and electric sapphire-blue highlights giving an almost iridescent appearance, a dark forehead spot surrounded by bright blue, and elongated dorsal and pelvic fins. It can reach 18 inches and needs at least a 250 gallon tank with hiding places and live rock for grazing; it is not a good reef dweller, prone to nip at corals and clam mantles, and should be introduced to the community tank last; feed Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty items at least three times daily.
