The Purple Masked Angelfish, also known as the Venusta Angel or Blue-backed Angelfish, shows a striking contrast of blue and yellow coloration. It needs a 70-gallon or larger aquarium with large amounts of live rock for hiding as it can be shy, and may become more assertive toward similarly sized and shaped fish as it matures; although typically considered reef safe, it may nip at sessile invertebrates and clam mantles — feed Spirulina, marine algae, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty items.
