The ORA Brazilian Longsnout Seahorse (Hippocampus reidi) is one of the largest seahorse species, growing to over 8 inches; this Atlantic species (Carolinas to Brazil) comes in color variations from black to yellow, orange, and red. It needs at least a 40-gallon tank with hitching posts such as branching rock or macro algae and gentle water flow; feed frozen mysis shrimp — target feeding may be necessary with pumps turned off — choose tankmates carefully (peaceful fish like gobies, pipefish, and firefish; avoid fast or aggressive fish that outcompete it), and it is reef safe with soft, LPS, and SPS coral.
