The Neon Goby, also known as the Neon Blue Goby, has a dark blue head and sleek body with a striking horizontal light-blue stripe on each side running from above the eye the entire length of the body; it is very hardy and, because of its small size, is a great addition to a small reef tank. It should be housed in a 10 gallon or larger aquarium; it is a cleaner species that will service tankmates and help control some diseases; it is rarely aggressive toward other fish but is territorial toward its own kind unless a mated pair; it commonly spawns in an aquarium, laying eggs in a crevice or empty shell; feed live and frozen brine shrimp, frozen mysis shrimp, table shrimp, and frozen carnivore preparations, once per day in a reef tank.
