The Multicolor Angelfish, also known as the Pastel Pygmy or Many-colored Angelfish, is pale peach-orange to yellow with black speckles on a blue background just behind the eyes, blue-black dorsal and anal fins, a yellow caudal fin, and a contrasting horizontal swatch of silvery-white from mid-body to the caudal fin. It needs at least a 70 gallon tank with lots of hiding places and live rock for grazing on microalgae, and does best in subdued lighting as a deep-water swimmer; it may nip at fleshy stony and soft corals and clam mantles, and is sensitive to copper-based medications; feed Spirulina, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other high-quality meaty items.
