The Multibar Angel, also known as the Many Banded or Multibarred Angelfish, has individual black and yellow vertical bands in an every-other fashion with a thin white stripe bordering each black band, a white to yellow tail with small black speckles, and juveniles show a blue eyespot at the back of the dorsal fin. It needs at least a 70-gallon tank with plenty of hiding places and live rock for grazing, is best kept as the only species member, and can be a finicky eater preferring small meaty items, angelfish and herbivore preparations, and live sponges; it may become territorial upon acclimatization, making it a challenging fish to keep.
