The Manybar Goatfish (Parupeneus multifasciatus) has a silvery-white body decorated with numerous dark vertical bars that intensify with age, and uses sensitive chin barbels to search sand for food. It is peaceful to semi-peaceful but may prey on small crustaceans and tiny fish, needing a minimum 680-liter tank with soft sandy substrate, moderate care, and a protein-rich diet fed in several small daily meals.
