The Maculosus Angelfish, also called the Yellowbar, Yellow-band, Map, or Blue Moon Angelfish, starts as a deep blue juvenile with white vertical bars and a bright yellow tail, then transforms into a gorgeous blue adult with a large vertical yellow bar midbody and a transparent yellow caudal fin. It is hardy and grows to over a foot in length, so keep a single specimen in a 250 gallon or larger tank; it is not a good reef candidate, prone to nip at stony and soft corals and clam mantles; feed Spirulina, marine algae, meaty items, and sponge-containing angelfish preparations.
