The Hooded Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus bathyphilus), first described in 2003 and also known as the Coral Sea Wrasse, shows a distinctive pattern of rose, pink, orange, and yellow with purple-black edging on its dorsal and tail fins; males and females are similarly colored, though males intensify when courting and colors may vary with mood. It is a very peaceful, active fish for a fish-only or reef aquarium of 70 gallons or larger that will not bother corals or invertebrates; a single male can be kept with a group of females, it likes to jump so a tight-fitting canopy is recommended, and meals should consist of enriched frozen brine shrimp, frozen mysis, and other marine meats.
