The Griffis Angelfish is a unique find originating in few locations in the Central Pacific ocean, reaching a maximum size of 10 inches; juveniles are white with a black stripe on the upper half, darkening with maturity as a white stripe forms. It adapts readily to aquarium life, requiring at least a 100 gallon aquarium with plenty of hiding places and live rock for grazing; it may become territorial once established; it is one of the safer choices of the large angels for the reef aquarium, not picking on sessile invertebrates; feed Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty items.
