The Court Jester Goby, also referred to as Rainford's Goby or Old Glory, was first discovered in the Western Pacific in 1940 by Whitely and gets its name from its brightly colored green and blue body with horizontal orange stripes running its entire length; it is very timid and peaceful and a great addition to the reef or fish-only aquarium. It should be kept in a 10 gallon or larger well-established aquarium with live rock and sand on which to graze; keep only one of this species unless the tank is large with abundant hiding places; it is rarely aggressive toward other species and can spawn in an aquarium; feed filamentous algae and small crustaceans such as live and frozen brine shrimp and mysis shrimp.
