The Blueline Angelfish, also known as the Bluebanded Angelfish, is only available on a seasonal basis in the summer months; juveniles are dark black with iridescent blue horizontal stripes, a yellow vertical bar behind the eye, white-outlined dorsal and anal fins, and a bright yellow caudal fin, while adults have a yellow to tan body with vibrant blue horizontal stripes. It is shy at first but adapts quickly; provide a quietly-located aquarium with non-aggressive tankmates, plenty of hiding places, and at least a 180 gallon tank with live rock for grazing; it nips at stony and soft corals and clam mantles and grazes on microalgae and diatoms; feed mysis or finely shaved frozen shrimp, quality marine pellet food, clams on the half shell, other meaty items, algae, and sponge.
