The Bellus Angelfish, also known as the Ornate Angelfish, originates from the Indo Pacific region and prefers deeper coral rich areas; it displays sexual dimorphism, with males iridescent pale white and blue with long horizontal blue stripes on the lower body and a yellow to orange stripe toward the caudal fin, and females iridescent pale white and blue and black with a yellow/orange dorsal fin and lateral stripe from gills to tail. It is best housed as a male-female pair or small harem in a 125 gallon or larger aquarium and is an ideal candidate for the deep-water reef aquarium; do not keep two males together; feed vitamin enriched frozen brine shrimp, spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty foods.
